Privacy Policy

The short version
This is a personal website. The blog has no accounts, no comments, no newsletter and no sign-up forms. I do not collect or store personal information about you myself. The few things that can happen when you visit are listed below, so there are no surprises.
Who I am
I am Joy Infant James, based in Munich, Germany. If you have any question about this page or your data, write to me at joyinfant99@gmail.com.
What I do not do
- I do not run a newsletter or keep a mailing list.
- I do not have user accounts or comments.
- I do not show ads, and I do not sell or hand your data to anyone.
Cookies and similar storage
This site stores two small things in your browser. Neither is an analytics cookie:
- cookie-consent (local storage): remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so I do not ask again on every visit.
- intro-seen (session storage): remembers that the short welcome screen has already been shown. It disappears when you close the tab.
Analytics cookies are only set if you press Accept on the cookie notice. If you accept, these services load and may set cookies:
- Google Analytics (cookies such as
_gaand_ga_<ID>): counts visits and shows which pages are read, what kind of device you use and roughly where in the world you are. - Microsoft Clarity (cookies such as
_clckand_clsk): shows where visitors click and scroll, using anonymous recordings and heatmaps. Text typed into form fields is masked.
If you press Reject, none of this loads and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your mind at any time with at the bottom of each page. If you withdraw consent, the analytics cookies are deleted.
Music pages (music.joyinfant.com)
- Contact form. If you choose to send me a message, the name, email address and message you type are sent through the service FormSubmit to my email inbox, so that I can reply. They are not stored on this website.
- Players. Spotify and YouTube players are embedded on some pages. When they load or play, those companies may set their own cookies and see your IP address. Their own privacy policies apply.
Hosting and technical logs
The site is hosted on Vercel. Articles and images are delivered from my own server (blog-api.joyinfant.com) and from Cloudinary. Like any web server, these may keep short technical logs (IP address, browser type, time of the request) to keep the service secure and running. I do not use them to identify you.
