Joy is a singer-songwriter from Chennai, now based in Munich.

His music brings together his Carnatic musical roots and deep faith, creating Tamil devotional music with a contemporary sound.

From Carnatic to Contemporary

Where it started

Joy began his musical training under Rev. Fr. P. T. Chelladurai SJ, developing as a vocalist and mridangam player.

That foundation still shapes his approach to melody, rhythm and composition.

Today, he performs with Musik Espresso in Munich, plays keyboards, and writes and produces his own music.

Joy produces his own music and works with artists in Germany and internationally.

His process combines live instrumentation, modern production and AI-assisted tools, including voice modelling.

He also writes openly about the creative and ethical questions that come with bringing AI into sacred music.
